Our Work

welcome to
Sneh Deep Trust

The Sneh Deep Trust was established by seven young doctors, while the initial foundation was laid when they started their journey into medical science, with the intention of providing daycare for children with exceptional needs. With the aid of our broad network of doctors and hospitals, we will enhance children's nutrition, education, and disability, enabling us to assist them in becoming self-sufficient adults. Sneh Deep Trust is particularly interested in surgical correction and wherever practical offers prosthesis or appliances. We try to reach even the most remote parts of India with the aid of our Partners and Sponsors.

Centre for Special Children

Centre for Special Children (CSC) completed one year of its existence on 1st September this year. We have a long way to go but wish to reiterate and recall with pride on how our 1 years’ journey has been –

  • The centre is a first-of-its-kind, run from a private charitable hospital in Mumbai
  • The centre saw 117 children approaching it for support
  • The centre has counselled children, guided parents and referred many of these to appropriate institutions for therapy and investigations.
  • The centre has built collaborations with 9 institutions to help our children get better medical attention.
  • The centre has supported 29 children by providing physiotherapy, visual aids, speech therapy, hearing aids and Diagnostic tests funded by Sneh Deep Trust.

All this will enable “Removing Constraints and Improving the Quality of Life” of these children for which CSC works towards.

With strong support of Nirali | AM Naik Charitable Healthcare Facility, CSC has proved a boon to children around Powai.

Our objective is to reach out to maximum under privileged children having challenges in the area of

1) Visual     2) Audio     3) Speech and      4) Locomotors issues

so that we can support them and improve their lives. In this quest, CSC has –

  • Conducted awareness campaigns in 64 schools and 14 communities predominantly in and around Powai.
  • Organised Medical camps at special schools in Panvel, Santacruz East and Andheri East to identify and advice on further rehabilitation.
  • Conducted motivational 5 seminars for parents and caregivers of children with disability (CWD) and 3 on-site health camps to assess disabilities among children.

The fundamental premise with which we approach this topic is by emphasising on the fact that periodic review of the CWD leads to better outcomes as the child learns to cope with the primary problem at initial visits and is later ready to learn a further skill. Each of these improvements lead to greater confidence in the child to study more, take care of her/his life better. Parents are motivated, guided and coached to look at the positive aspects of their child and also told that eventually this child could turn into a caregiver during their old age.
